Experience how mountains & nature soothe your mind while relaxing your body
The drive to the trailhead is long dirt road winding in and out of private land until getting into the canyon. This is a much longer drive on dirt roads and well worth it as you’ll be able to see a little bit of local history along the way.
Our trailhead is small and just before a big campground. Since this drive is little longer into the mountains, we gain more elevation and are closer to our basecamp than that of our 8-mile Lakeside Camp. Equally impressive, this trail starts in old growth forest following on the creek and slowly making our way higher in elevation. This too has tons of wildflowers along the way.

Incredible ridge hike with pack llamas. Great views!
Exercise, Eat Well, Reset Yourself
After 6 miles from the trailhead we’ll come upon our first alpine lake. But before reaching the lake, we’ll take a little detour to get an incredible view of the surroundings peaks. There’s a spot on the trail which will allows us to gain the ridge without too much trouble. From here, we’ll hike just a short distance before dropping into camp along a beautiful mountain stream with tons of wildflowers. The alpine lake is just a short distance from camp.
